The powers that be at Paradox present to you The Christmas Collection of Paradoxical Types – A Naughty or Nice Divinity Guide! Our studio elves celebrate the festive season with a mystical twist and plenty of sweet treats in a gift that teases the mind, challenges belief and tickles the tastebuds.

This year, our lucky partners and clients dabble with magic numbers to figure out which beloved Christmas character best personifies them, based on their date of birth. Are they the vain yet Sweet Sugar Plum Fairy? Or the mean but Rich Ol' Uncle Scrooge? 

Once they have discovered what the numbers have destined for them, they can find out how well they get along with anyone else by working out relationship numbers and checking out the scores on our online Naughty or Nice List www.oneparadox.com/naughtyornice

There are nine types of yummies at the end of the number trail and we all know that whatever the outcome, you'll scoff the lot ;)

The Queen of Estates: Commemorative Postcards

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s first satellite town and also the Queen of Estates in the nation, a series of postcards were designed as memorabilia. Handed out as souvenirs at the opening event that kickstarted a year-long celebration, the postcards depict scenes and landmarks from a bygone era during the early days of the town’s beginnings. Juxtaposed against these quaint and vintage backdrops are the various graphic icons and typography that draw inspiration from old signage and architecture found around town. The postcards have also been diecut around the edges to resemble old photographs, and contain an info snippet on the back relating to the image on the postcard.

A Paradox Media Apocalyptic Christmas Gift

Anticipating the predicted end of all that we know in this world, the little designer elves at the studio put together a christmas gift for our clients and partners, dubbed The Doomsday Kit for a Possible Last Christmas. Expected to induce bouts of warm fuzzy feelings and frenzied generosity, this kit is a beautifully packaged collection of iconic seasonal products along with a handy survival manual.

Contains among other things – two candy canes, a candle, a matchstick, a party cracker, a tin of yumyums, a small bottle of bubbly, a small tree, and no small amount of love and goodwill towards mankind.

CAKESPADE is inspired by the old-fashioned and rustic methods of baking from scratch, using only the best and freshest ingredients. This is a kitchen of heavenly aromas, chocolate-smudged recipe pages, and a little bit of love going into each and every slice of cake.


This proposal was created for the delightful founder of CAKESPADE, in her bid to open a dessert store at the premises of a renowned Singapore university. Just like her popular Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake, CAKESPADE is a sure winner!

[Olympic Council of Asia] Media Partnership Book

OCA Media Partnership Book with MP & Silva

This book was designed to contain background information on the media partnership between the Olympic Council of Asia and the international media rights company, MP & Silva. The partnership book features a mainly silver theme to communicate the modern direction that the OCA brand is taking and to promote the prestige of sports in the diverse continent of Asia. The muted silver metallic pages on the inside are offset by stunning photography and bold infographics on the state of Asian sporting events.

With the passing of yet another year, the Singapore Management University celebrates a new crop of fresh graduates who have been equipped with the knowledge and skills they would need to succeed in their endeavours.

The five schools of the university are represented by their respective school colours on the invites, and a logotype was specifically created for this event. For a formal touch, the logotype and borders on the invite were hot stamped in gold to offset the school colours nicely. Lightweight miniature photo frames were also created for graduates to have as memorable keepsakes of this milestone in their lives.

 In the pursuit of natural beauty, we braved the elements and truly went the distance to film the latest EOS 60D feature video. Arriving after a grueling 16 hours of bumpy rides and cramped vehicles, we reveled in the magnificence of the valleys of Sapa, northwards of Vietnam. Shot in its entirety with cameras from the EOS DSLR range, the result bears testament to the amazing quality only capable in a brand that we hold in firm belief. Next in the range of Canon’s award-winning and highly accomplished EOS range, the 60D features the first 3-inch swivel screen on a DSLR. In print execution, we further amplified the creative freedom offered by the EOS 60D, with bold imagery and strong dynamic lines. Adopting a slightly different and more intimate travelogue angle, the training video was shot entirely with EOS DSLR cameras and is directed at inspiring the audience without an overwhelming technical aspect.

A visual reminder that creative inspiration strikes at any time, the WDA CI WSQ calendar is a fresh take on the desktop varient, and is made to resemble a doodle pad or clipboard used in brainstorm sessions. Each month features different patterns or illustrations to represent various creative industries, and is topped with an enlightening and inspirational quote by famous personalities.

The design brief was rather simple at the beginning. To design a brochure for the creative industry in Singapore that targets individuals who are interested to join or even switch career path; so much for the easy part. Here's the tough part, we must create RETENTION VALUE or keep sake for the brochure; thus the evolution of the brochure into a notebook cum organizer cum calendar cum doodle pages....

With 10 real-life creative individuals stories, 10 photo shoots & DI, 9 creative industry sector introductions, 12 monthly calendar, 12 different renown quotes, 12 daily calendar pages and countless endless graphics in the making, we finally saw light at the end of the tunnel. Our final product below. Gosh, it was tough.

Bearing in mind that healthcare literature has always created a sterile and cold impression with its matter-of-fact presentation, we strove to shine a different light on this project. Having like-minded clients greatly granted us creative freedom to bend the standards that defined conventional healthcare books and made it possible to put forth our own extraordinary book.

Imagine a tiny sprout blooming into proud magnificence, pumping with life from its roots to the very tip of its leaves. Adding years to a healthy life is to achieve constant and sustainable growth, just as a tree.

The feel of the brochure reflects the high profiles and statures of the institutions involved in the mission. Our design approach encompasses strong use of black and gold.

It is the littlest gestures that count and in a charitable collaboration with the Agency for Integrated Care, we have built upon the idea of how small gestures can make a world of difference in the lives of the elderly. Spurred on by goodwill towards the less fortunate, our design process was empowered by the greater effect that we would affect through this simple yet influential project. The calendar features cards constructed into a tower to symbolize the effect of a layering effort on our part in working towards a greater cause.
